Brand Book: Gryd
My first portfolio piece is from my second student practicum, at a Winnipeg tech start-up that
offers public-facing and back-end digital tools for commuters, tenants, property managers, and more.
One of my projects for Gryd during my practicum was creating their brand book.
It was mostly built in InDesign, maintaining a clean file build and utilizing parent pages, paragraph
styles, and their numbering & section functions. Some assets were built in Illustrator and of course
Photoshop was used for image treatments.
The target audience was Gryd’s existing creative team,
who expect loyalty to their existing brand identity.
Gryd’s brand expressions are characterized by clean heirarchies, colour blocks and text highlights,
and their brand typefaces, Manrope and IBM Plex Sans.
Manrope being used for most headers and copy, IBM Plex SANs being used mostly for overline and mouse
text.
The square, 9”x9” format and modular design lend themselves to Gryd’s tidy, tech-y voice.
